An interesting game for Lattes Montpellier (14-2) which played road game in Lyon against 4th ranked Lyon (11-5). Second ranked Lattes Montpellier had an easy win 86-68. The game was mostly controlled by Lattes Montpellier. Lyon managed to win second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lattes Montpellier looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Geraldine Robert (183-80) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Latvian forward Gunta Basko (181-80, college: Siena, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. German forward Romy Baer (187-87) replied with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Mistie Mims (191-83, college: Duke) added 19 points in the effort for Lyon. Lyon's coach Marina Maljkovic rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lattes Montpellier have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-2 record behind leader Bourges, which they share with Villeneuve. Lyon at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Landes. Lattes Montpellier is looking forward to face Tarbes (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lyon will play against Basket Landes (#5) in Mont de Marsan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
