Not a big story in a game in Regina, SK where 8th ranked Cougars (4-14) were defeated by fifth ranked Spartans (9-9) 67-59 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 34-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Spartans forced 25 Cougars turnovers. Forward Denny McDonald (198) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Justin Bakuteka (183) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Forward Travis Sylvester (194) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Brendan Hebert (183) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartans maintains fifth position with 9-9 record, which they share with Queen's. Cougars lost sixth consecutive game.
