Regular Season Round 18: Toyota A. - Denso Iris 69-54

The most important game in the last round took place in Nagoya between second ranked Denso Iris (14-4) and fourth ranked Toyota A. (14-4) on Saturday night. Denso Iris were defeated by Toyota A. on the road 69-54. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Denso Iris. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota A.. Denso Iris managed to win fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was center Mori Binge (180-88) who scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Toyota A. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Minami Iju (168-90) added 14 points respectively. Denso Iris' coach Hiroshi Kojima rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota A. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Fujitsu RW and Denso Iris. Toyota A. is looking forward to face Ebara Vickies (#11) in Tokyo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Denso Iris will play at home against Mitsubishi K. (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
