Regular Season Round 33: Takamatsu FA - Akita NH 77-100

BJ League top team - Akita Happinets (27-4) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Takamatsu FA (13-16) 100-77. The game without a history. Akita Happinets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Akita Happinets outrebounded Takamatsu FA 42-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and forward Sylvester Seay (208-85, college: Fresno St.) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) with 25 points and power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five Akita Happinets and four Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Akita Happinets. They maintain first place with 27-4 record. Takamatsu FA lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 16 games lost. Akita Happinets will have a break next round. Takamatsu FA will play again at home against the league's leader Akita Happinets (#1) and hope to win that game.
