Regular Season Round 24: Brandon - UFV 52-68

Everything went according to plan in Brandon where first ranked Cascades (14-4) beat 6th ranked Bobcats (5-13) 68-52 on Saturday. The game without a history. Cascades led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bobcats to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Bobcats 52-21 including a 27-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sarah Wierks (188) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Aieisha Luyken (173) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Cassie Cooke (173-91, college: Mt.St.Marys) with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Stephanie Haynes (170-92) scored 13 points. Cascades maintains first position with 14-4 record, which they share with Western and Laurier. Bobcats lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
