Regular Season Round 24: Laurentian - Queen's 50-69

There was no surprise in Greater Sudbury where 7th ranked Voyageurs (4-14) were outplayed by third ranked Golden Gaels (11-7) 69-50 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Golden Gaels. Voyageurs was better in third quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Golden Gaels forced 28 Voyageurs turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Liz Boag (160) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jenny Wright (178) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Golden Gaels players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Adrienne Moreau (178) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and forward Emma Decloe (185) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Golden Gaels maintains third position with 11-7 record having one point less than leader UFV, which they share with McMaster and Calgary. Voyageurs lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
