Regular Season Round 24: Waterloo - Western 58-83

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Mustangs (14-4) outscored on the road 8th ranked Waterloo (2-16) 83-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-58. Mustangs forced 28 Waterloo turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jenny Vaughan (175-90, college: Denver) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 assists and guard Caroline Wolynski (173) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Mustangs' coach Brian Cheng felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Madison Behr (178) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Marti Killeen (180) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Mustangs keep a position of league leader, which they share with Laurier and UFV. Waterloo lost fourteenth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 16 games lost. Mustangs will face league's leader Lancers in Windsor in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Waterloo will play on the road against Guelph (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
