Very expected game in Nijmegen where 10th ranked Weert (1-21) was crushed by sixth ranked M.Magixx (13-9) 76-47. The game without a history. M.Magixx led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Weert to just 5 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Weert 50-25 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Patrick Richard (196-90, college: McNeese St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Indian-Canadian forward Robbie Sihota (198-87) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. M.Magixx's coach Michael Schuurs felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Russian forward Roman Grigorev (200-90, agency: Court Side) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Kenneth van Kempen (207-87, college: Ohio, agency: Court Side) added 4 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Weert in the defeat. M.Magixx moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Leiden. Weert at the other side stay dead last with 21 lost games. M.Magixx will play against higher ranked Zwolle (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Weert will play against Leeuwarden (#7) to get more than just one victory in their record.
