There was a surprise result in Santoago de Comp where fifteenth ranked Blusens Monbus (7-11) defeated higher ranked CB Canarias (8-9) 84-76 on Sunday. CB Canarias trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 22-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-84 at the end of the game. American power forward Mike Muscala (211-91, college: Bucknell) scored 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Czech Pavel Pumprla (198-86) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Blusens Monbus' coach Moncho Fernandez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Montenegrin center Blagota Sekulic (209-82) with 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Saul Blanco (196-85) scored 13 points. Blusens Monbus have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Bilbao Basket and Fuenlabrada. CB Canarias lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Blusens Monbus will face La Bruixa d'Or (#15) in Manresa in the next round.
