The game in Kumamoto supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Toyota Alvark (23-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Kumamoto V. (5-25). Toyota Alvark smashed Kumamoto V. 112-68. The game without a history. Toyota Alvark led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Kumamoto V.'s 48 and made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Kumamoto V. 48-31 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toyota Alvark brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Kumamoto V. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a very good performance for forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Toyota Alvark have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 23-8 record having just two points less than leader Aishin SH. Kumamoto V. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 25 games lost. Toyota Alvark's next round opponent will be Mitsubishi Dolphins (#3) in Nagoya, which may be the game of the day.
