Regular Season Round 8: Gimle - Ulriken 84-50

An exciting game was played in Bergen. First ranked Gimle faced 4th ranked Ulriken. Host Gimle (9-1) smashed guests from Bergen (0-8) 84-50. The game without a history. Gimle led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Ulriken turnovers and outrebounded them 44-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gimle made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard D'lesha Lloyde (179-86, college: Clemson, agency: Merit Management Group) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). The other American import guard Taysha Pye (175-89, college: William & Mary) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Gimle's coach Sinisa Komatina felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Lise Breivik (181-93) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and forward Helene Kongestol (182-93) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-1 record. Ulriken at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Gimle will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ulriken will play on the road against Ullern (#3) in Oslo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
