Regular Season Round 17: Kiryat Tivon - Maccabi Hasharon 80-65

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Kiryat Tivon (9-8) beat at home bottom-ranked Hod Hasharon (2-15) 80-65. The game without a history. Kiryat Tivon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kiryat Tivon outrebounded Hod Hasharon 45-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Hod Hasharon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was guard Charles Hinkle (195-88, college: American) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Fred Hunter (196-89, college: Nicholls St., agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Four Kiryat Tivon players scored in double figures. Kiryat Tivon's coach Erez Bittman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Anthony Fisher (191-86) produced 21 points and 8 assists and power forward Louis Johnson (206-86, college: W.Illinois) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Kiryat Tivon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Elizur Ashkelon. Hod Hasharon at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Kiryat Tivon's next round opponent will be Hapoel Migd.H. (#9) in Tarshicha. Hod Hasharon will play at home against Beer Yaakov (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
