Regular Season Round 29: Sichuan BW - Bayi R. 119-115

No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked Sichuan BW (13-16) defeated at home 17th ranked Bayi Rockets (6-23) 119-115 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 4 points. Sichuan BW made 34-of-42 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Sichuan BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 49 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Taiwanese guard Tsung-Hsien Chang (192-87, college: BYU-Hawaii) chipped in 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Sichuan BW's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international center Ke Mo (210-82) responded with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center ZhiZhi Wang (215-77) scored 29 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Sichuan BW and five Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Sichuan BW maintains twelfth place with 13-16 record. Bayi Rockets lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. Sichuan BW will meet higher ranked TianJin Steel (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bayi Rockets will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#5) and hope to secure a win.
