There was a small surprise in Athens where fifth ranked Nea Kifisia (10-7) defeated 3rd placed Panionios (13-4) 64-60 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-60. Nea Kifisia made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game, while Panionios only scored six points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nea Kifisia made 7 blocks. American swingman Tony Crocker (201-87, college: Oklahoma) stepped up and scored 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Serbian-Bosnian point guard Sasa Vasiljevic (183-79, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 15 points.
