Rather expected game when 6th ranked Apollon Patras (7-10) was defeated at home by fourth ranked PAOK (11-6) 81-77 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-77. PAOK made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Power forward Mihalis Tsairelis (207-88) stepped up and scored 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Kostas Haralampidis (189-76) chipped in 26 points. PAOK's coach Soulis Markopoulos used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Five Apollon Patras players scored in double figures. PAOK have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 11-6 record. Apollon Patras at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. PAOK will face league's second-placed Olympiacos in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Apollon Patras will play on the road against AGOR (#9) in Rethymno and hope to win that game.
