There was no surprise when 11th ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (5-18) was defeated at home by second ranked Mahram (20-3) 69-63 on Thursday. Mahram outrebounded Shahrdari Gorgan 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Farid Aslani (183-88) who scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. The former international forward Arman Zangeneh (203-93) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Hooman Rezaei (208-81) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and forward Mohsen Khosravi (198) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Shahrdari Gorgan players scored in double figures. Mahram have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 20-3 record having just one point less than leader Petrochimi. Shahrdari Gorgan lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 18 games lost. Mahram are looking forward to face league's leader Petrochimi in Bandar Imam in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shahrdari Gorgan will play on the road against Zanjan (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
