No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Brasilia (14-8) beat at home 11th ranked Vivo/Franca (8-11) 87-72. Vivo/Franca was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 49-30 second half run of Brasilia. It was a great evening for international Guilherme Giovannoni (204-80, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. International guard Alex Ribeiro (191-80, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Brasilia players scored in double figures. The former international center Paulo Prestes (210-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and Leonardo Meindl (200-93) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Vivo/Franca at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Brasilia will play against Unitri (#7) in Uberlandia in the next round. Vivo/Franca will play on the road against Universo/Goiania (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
