Rather predictable result when third ranked Burgos (13-5) defeated at home 6th ranked Leche Rio Breogan (11-7) 89-76 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Burgos. Leche Rio Breogan managed to win second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Burgos made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Leche Rio Breogan turnovers. The best player for the winners was Josep Ortega (201-84) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. American-Cape Verdean point guard Jeffrey Xavier (187-85, college: Providence) chipped in 12 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Burgos' coach Andreu Casadevall used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest.
