CIS top team - Golden Bears (18-2) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Bisons (5-15) in Edmonton, AB 70-56. The game was mostly controlled by Golden Bears. Bisons was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Jordan Baker (192-91, college: Utah Valley) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Joel Friesen (193) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four Golden Bears players scored in double figures. American guard Mike Holloway (182, college: Valdosta St.) replied with 12 points and 6 rebounds and forward Wyatt Anders (201) added 5 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Bisons. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Golden Bears have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record, which they share with Ottawa. Loser Bisons dropped to the sixth place with 15 games lost. Golden Bears will face again Bisons (#6) in Winnipeg, MB in the next round where they are favorite.
