Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Thunderwolves (7-13) lost to third ranked Golden Hawks (9-11) in Thunder Bay, ON 88-93 on Friday. Thunderwolves were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Golden Hawks made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Thunderwolves turnovers. Thunderwolves were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard Maxwell Allin (193) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 rebounds. Guard William Coulthard (188) contributed with 26 points and 6 steals for the winners. Guard Henry Tan (183) replied with 22 points and point guard Dwayne Harvey (178) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Thunderwolves. Four Thunderwolves players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Golden Hawks maintains third position with 9-11 record having eleven points less than leader Windsor, which they share with Queen's. Loser Thunderwolves keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. Golden Hawks will have a break next round. Thunderwolves will play again at home against Golden Hawks (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
