Regular Season Round 11: Rustavi - Kutaisi 87-81

There was a change at the Superleague leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Kutaisi (7-3). They were defeated by seventh ranked Energy Invest (3-7) 87-81 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kutaisi. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 30-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Energy Invest forced 20 Kutaisi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for center Levan Khmelidze (208-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized Russian center Giorgi Kvelashvili (206-81) helped adding 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Energy Invest players scored in double figures. Naturalized Azerbaijani forward Davit Barbakadze (203-82) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Akaki Dvalishvili (206-90) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Energy Invest maintains seventh place with 3-7 record. Kutaisi at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Dinamo Tbilisi. Kutaisi will play next round against Maccabi Tbilisi trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Energy Invest will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Sokhumi in Tbilisi.
