There was no surprise when 18th ranked Lille Metropole (7-21) was defeated on the road by second ranked Chalons-Reims (19-8) 74-62 on Friday. Lille Metropole trailed 38-35 at halftime, rallying from a 27-10 deficit at the end of first quarter to trim the gap. Bosnian guard Muhamed Pasalic (192-87) fired 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Michel Morandais (196-79, college: Colorado) chipped in 13 points. Chalons-Reims' coach Nikola Antic used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee, agency: Allegiant Athletic Agency) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Steffon Bradford (200-78, college: Nebraska) added 14 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Chalons-Reims have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 19-8 record behind leader Boulogne. Lille Metropole lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 21 games lost. Chalons-Reims will face Souffelweyersheim (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
