Regular Season Round 16: Thor Thorl - Keflavik 93-94

Fifth-ranked Thor Thorl (8-8) made lots of trouble for second ranked Keflavik (15-1) in Thorlakshofn. The visitors from Keflavik managed to secure only one-point victory 94-93. However their fans expected easier game. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 10-point deficit before their 27-16 run, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) contributed with 29 points for the winners. American swingman Mike Cook (193-84, college: Pittsburgh) replied with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Ragnar Nathanaelsson (218-91) added 21 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Thor Thorl. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Keflavik have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with KR. Thor Thorl at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Haukar. Keflavik will play against Skallagrimur (#10) in Borgarnes in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Thor Thorl will play at home against Valur (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
