Regular Season Round 30: Xinjiang FT - Liaoning H. 95-88
Date: February 7, 2014
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (23-7) beat 8th ranked Liaoning Hunters (16-14) in Urumqi 95-88 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Liaoning Hunters won second period 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Hakim Warrick (204-82, college: Syracuse) replied with 22 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international center XiaoXu Li (206-90) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Liaoning Hunters. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige maintains second position with 23-7 record having four points less than leader Guangdong ST. Loser Liaoning Hunters keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige will face Jilin Tigers (#14) in Changchun in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Liaoning Hunters will play on the road against Shanxi Zhongyu (#16) in Taiyuan and hope to win that game.
