Second Stage Round 17: Quimsa - Argentino 85-90

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Quimsa (7-10) and Argentino (6-11), which took place in Santiado Estero. Higher ranked Quimsa lost at home to thirteenth ranked Argentino 85-90. It looked good early as Quimsa took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Argentino had a 25-21 second period charge getting the lead and Quimsa was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 85-90. Argentino made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Marcos Saglietti (19-86) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Andres Landoni (202-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. British-American Darren Phillip (201-78, college: Fairfield) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Jonatan Treise (186-85) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Argentino and five Quimsa players scored in double figures. Argentino maintains thirteenth place with 6-11 record, which they share with Wuber-Est.Bahia. Quimsa at the other side dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Argentino's next round opponent will be higher ranked Atenas (#9) in Cordoba and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
