Regular Season Round 30: Qingdao E. - DongGuan L. 101-111

Very predictable result when fourth ranked DongGuan Leopards (21-9) won against on the road bottom-ranked Qingdao Eagles (4-26) 111-101 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 111-101. DongGuan Leopards made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when DongGuan Leopards made 7 blocks. Qingdao Eagles were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 assists. The other American import forward Donte Greene (206-88, college: Syracuse) contributed with 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. DongGuan Leopards' coach Brian Goorjian used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) replied with 31 points and Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) added 14 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Qingdao Eagles. Four DongGuan Leopards and five Qingdao Eagles players scored in double figures. DongGuan Leopards have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Beijing Ducks. Qingdao Eagles lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. DongGuan Leopards will face Jiangsu Dragons (#11) in Nanjing in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Qingdao Eagles will play at home against Foshan (#15) and hope to win that game.
