Regular Season Round 18: Bulleen B. - Dandenong R. 85-84

Date: February 7, 2014
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when third ranked Bulleen Boomers (14-8) edged second-best Dandenong Rangers (16-7) in Melbourne 85-84 on Friday. Dandenong Rangers trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 29-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-85 at the end of the game. Bulleen Boomers forced 20 Dandenong Rangers turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. It was a good game for the former international swingman Tess Madgen (180-90) who saved her team from a defeat with 27 points. Guard Rebecca Allen (185-92) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. The former international Jenna O'Hea (185-87) replied with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and naturalized American point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-85, college: Utah, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 10 assists in the effort for Dandenong Rangers. Four Dandenong Rangers players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Bulleen Boomers went down to fourth position due to points difference. Defending champion Dandenong Rangers keep the second place with seven games lost. Bulleen Boomers will face Logan Thunder (#8) in Loganholme in the next round. Dandenong Rangers will play on the road against Adelaide Lightning (#5) and hope to win that game.
