Regular Season Round 26: Calgary - Regina 57-90

Date: February 7, 2014
Rather predictable result when first ranked Regina (18-2) rolled over 4th ranked Calgary (11-9) in Exshaw 90-57 on Friday. The game without a history. Regina led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Regina especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Center Alyssia Kajati (185) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Nicole Clarke (180-90) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Regina players scored in double figures. Guard Tamara Jarrett (168-91) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Australian guard Ashley Hirons (175) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Calgary. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Regina have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-2 record, which they share with Windsor and Alberta. Calgary lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Regina will have a break next round. Calgary will play again at home against the league's second-placed Regina (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
