Regular Season Round 26: TRU - Victoria 60-77

An interesting game for Vikes (14-6) which played road game in Kamloops against 4th ranked TRU (11-9). Third ranked Vikes had an easy win 77-60. The game was mostly controlled by Vikes. TRU was better in third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TRU 38-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Jenna Bugiardini (180) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Guard Jenny Lewis (178) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Vikes' coach Dani Sinclair used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Jorri Duxbury (170) replied with 22 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Ryan Kennedy added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for TRU. Vikes keep a position of league leader, which they share with Carleton. Loser TRU keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. Vikes will have a break next round. TRU will play again at home against Vikes (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
