Second Stage Round 4: Basket ROW - Widzew 60-69

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Basket ROW (11-11) in Rybnik on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Widzew (5-17) 69-60. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Basket ROW. Basket ROW trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 17-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 60-69 at the end of the game. Widzew forced 19 Basket ROW turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Tynikki Crook (185-89, college: Marshall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Olivia Tomialowicz (185-90) who added 16 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Anna Kuncewicz (186-88, agency: Promotex) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Markel Walker (185-90, college: UCLA, agency: LBM Management) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Basket ROW's coach Kazimierz Mikolajec rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Widzew maintains third position in Places 7-10 with 5-17 record having sixteen points less than leader Wisla Krakow. Basket ROW at the other side still keeps top place with 11 games lost. Widzew are looking forward to face league's second-placed Riviera Gdynia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Basket ROW will play against MKS Konin and is hoping to win this game.
