Regular Season Round 29: Ottawa - York 110-92

Rather predictable result in Ottawa, ON where second ranked Gee-Gees (18-2) defeated 5th ranked Lions (10-10) 110-92 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gee-Gees. Lions was better in third quarter 32-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Lions outrebounded Gee-Gees 41-28 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Terry Thomas (193) stepped up and scored 44 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Michael L'Africain (185) chipped in 13 points and 13 assists. Forward Nick Tufegdzich (201) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds and guard Richard Iheadindu (190) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Five Gee-Gees and four Lions players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Gee-Gees. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Alberta. Loser Lions keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
