Rather expected game in Saporro where 6th ranked Kumamoto V. (5-27) was rolled over by third ranked Hokkaido L. (20-13) 91-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Hokkaido L. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hokkaido L. outrebounded Kumamoto V. 47-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Kumamoto V.'s players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hokkaido L. made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Hokkaido L.'s coach Juan Manuel Hurtado felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and the former international power forward Hiromasa Omiya (198-82) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hokkaido L. maintains third place with 20-13 record having four points less than leader Aishin SH. Kumamoto V. lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 27 games lost. Hokkaido L. will face league's second-placed Wakayama T. at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kumamoto V. will play against the league's leader Toshiba Thunders (#1) in Kanagawa and hope to win that game.
