Regular Season Round 35: Okinawa GK - Osaka Evessa 72-63

BJ League top team - Okinawa GK (25-4) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked Osaka Evessa (13-18) 72-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Osaka Evessa. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-63. Okinawa GK outrebounded Osaka Evessa 45-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Osaka Evessa was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Serbian power forward Darko Cohadarevic (206-86, college: Texas Tech) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Zachary Andrews (203-85, college: Bradley) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okinawa GK maintains first place with 25-4 record. Loser Osaka Evessa dropped to the sixth position with 18 games lost. Okinawa GK will face again Osaka Evessa (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
