Regular Season Round 29: Tochigi Brex - Tsukuba R. 83-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Tochigi Brex's (18-14) home victory over 5th ranked Tsukuba R. (6-27) 83-74 on Saturday. Tsukuba R. was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Tsukuba R. 41-27 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Yuta Tabuse (173-80, college: BYU-Hawaii) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Lamar Sanders (198-84, college: Lamar) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and Croatian-Canadian center Ljubisa Vrcelj (210-84, college: Jacksonville) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Tsukuba R. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Tochigi Brex maintains fourth place with 18-14 record. Tsukuba R. lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 27 games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Hyogo S. (#4) at home in the next round. Tsukuba R. will play against the league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
