Regular Season Round 18: Cieszyn - Alba Chorzow 79-83

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Alba Chorzow (13-5) defeated on the road 11th ranked Cieszyn (2-16) 83-79 on Saturday. Cieszyn trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 29-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-83 at the end of the game. Alba Chorzow forced 21 Cieszyn turnovers. Cieszyn was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for swingman Damian Tokarski (193-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Marcin Weselak (202-79) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Alba Chorzow's coach Rafal Sobecki used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Lukasz Kubik (201-92) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Grzegorz Siwy added 20 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) in the effort for Cieszyn. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alba Chorzow have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group B with 13-5 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Legia. Cieszyn lost tenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Alba Chorzow will face AZS Pol.Cz-wa (#10) in Czestochowa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cieszyn will play on the road against Nysa Klodzko in Kloszko and hope to win that game.
