Palmeiras (10-12) outlasted Mogi (9-13) in overtime by seven points 98-91. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mogi won fourth quarter 21-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Mogi used huge pressure winning it 21-12 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 20-27. Palmeiras made 29-of-37 charity shots (78.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 30 Mogi turnovers and outrebounded them 44-33 including 31 on the defensive glass. 29 personal fouls committed by Mogi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for center Atila Santos (208-83, college: Minn.St.-Mankato, agency: Warren Sports International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds. Italian-Argentinian point guard Maximiliano Stanic (178-78, agency: Players Group) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Jefferson Agba (209-80, college: Embry Riddle) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and center Daniel Castellar (202-83) added 15 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Mogi. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Mogi's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Palmeiras moved-up to tenth place. Mogi lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Palmeiras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Sao Paulo to the arena Vivo/Franca.
