Regular Season Round 29: Toshiba BT - Aishin SH 82-88

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Toshiba Thunders (26-5) in Kanagawa on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Aishin Sea Horses (29-3) 88-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-82. Aishin Sea Horses outrebounded Toshiba Thunders 45-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Jamaican center Kevin Young (206-84, college: Missouri) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) chipped in 9 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Toshiba Thunders' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 29-3 record which they share with defeated Toshiba Thunders. Toshiba Thunders at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. Aishin Sea Horses are looking forward to face Hitachi Sunrockers (#5) in Tokyo in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will play at home against Kumamoto V. (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
