There was an upset when 4th placed ADBA (7-6) was edged on the road by tenth ranked Oviedo (5-8) 77-74 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Oviedo looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Naturalized Argentinian Ines Orselli (-93) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Andrea Malanda (164-90) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side forward Anna Boleda (181-81) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Portuguese power forward Debora Escorcio (186-84) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Oviedo. They moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser ADBA keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Oviedo will face higher ranked Cortegada (#6) in Vilagarcia Arousa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ADBA will play at home against Real Celta Vigo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
