Regular Season Round 18: Kalisz - Trefl II Sopot 92-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Kalisz's (12-6) home victory over 5th ranked Trefl II Sopot (9-8) 92-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kalisz. Trefl II Sopot was better in second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Trefl II Sopot 39-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. Kalisz looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a good game for guard Lukasz Wojciechowski (184-88) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 8 assists. Forward Kamil Sieranski (195-84) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Lukasz Jaskiewicz (202-92) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Adam Brenk (192-95) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Trefl II Sopot. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Kalisz maintains fourth position in Group A with 12-6 record. Loser Trefl II Sopot keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Kalisz will face Polonia W-wa (#8) in Warszawa in the next round. Trefl II Sopot will play at home against Basket Pila and hope to win that game.
