The game in Laksevag was also quite interesting. Second ranked Tromso (10-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Froya Basket (7-8). Tromso managed to secure a 7-point victory 74-67 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great evening for American guard Gary Wallace (187-88, college: Robert Morris) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Bulgarian guard Galin Mihaylov (189-80) helped adding 18 points. Four Tromso players scored in double figures. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American power forward Peter Bullock (198-82, college: Alaska-Anch.) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Ali Ouakkaha (185-90, college: Cuesta JC) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 8 steals. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Tromso. They maintain second place with 10-5 record having just one point less than leader Gimle BBK, which they share with Ammerud Bskt. Loser Froya Basket keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Tromso will meet at home bottom-ranked Centrum (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Froya Basket will play against Asker Aliens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
