The game between Top Four teams took place in Tbilisi. Second ranked host Armia (8-2) smashed 4th placed Batumi (6-4) 93-65. The game without a history. Armia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Armia outrebounded Batumi 52-31 including a 40-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Armia made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Mikheil Berishvili (205-87) who scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Beqa Tsivtsivadze (190-89) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Armia players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Junior Cadougan (187-90, college: Marquette) produced 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Jeremy Saffold (198-91, college: Wisc.-Parkside, agency: N.E.T.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Armia maintains second place with 8-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Dinamo Tbilisi. Loser Batumi keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Armia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena MIA.
