Regular Season Round 14: Meteors - UL Huskies 49-82

Premier League top team - UL Huskies (10-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Meteors (1-12) in Dublin 82-49. UL Huskies held Meteors to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.1 percent accuracy of the winners. UL Huskies forced 25 Meteors turnovers. The former international guard Rachel Clancy (175-88, college: Cal Poly - SLO) scored 23 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian-British guard Rachel Vanderwal (176-83, college: Boston U.) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. UL Huskies' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Katie Ganser (186-90, college: Merrimack) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and Beth Meany (168-90) scored 16 points and 5 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). UL Huskies have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-2 record, which they share with DCU Mercy. Meteors lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. UL Huskies will play against Brunell (#5) in Cork in the next round. Meteors' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dublin to the arena DCU Mercy.
