Regular Season Round 8: Ourinhos - Brasilia 85-41

Bottom-ranked Brasilia is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to fifth ranked Ourinhos (5-5) 85-41 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Ourinhos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brasilia to just 6 points in third quarter. Ourinhos made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 29 Brasilia turnovers and outrebounded them 36-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. Ourinhos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by international swingman Patricia Ribeiro (176-90) who scored that evening 20 points and the former international point guard Joice Rodrigues (168-86) supported her with 15 points and 4 assists. Even 10 points by power forward Fabiana Guedes (182-78) did not help to save the game for Brasilia. Guard Mariah Dos Santos (165-94) added 6 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ourinhos maintains fifth position with 5-5 record. Newly promoted Brasilia still closes the standings with ten games lost. Ourinhos will meet league's leader Recife on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brasilia will play against Maranhao (#4) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
