Regular Season Round 16: Charnay - Pays d'Aix 45-53

Rather predictable result in Charnay-les-Macon where tenth ranked Pays d'Aix (6-9) defeated 12th ranked Charnay (4-11) 53-45. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 15-11. But Charnay won second period 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pays d'Aix held Charnay to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Pays d'Aix forced 19 Charnay turnovers. Quite impressive performance for forward Kelly Corre (180-91) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Julie Legoupil (173-84) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Mali center Awa Diallo (192-92) added 11 points in the effort for Charnay. Pays d'Aix moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Reims and Avenir. Charnay lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Pays d'Aix's next round opponent will be higher ranked SIG (#6) in llkirch-Graff. and it may be quite challenging game. Charnay will play on the road against Reims (#8) and hope to win that game.
