No shocking result in a game in Saskatoon where third ranked Huskies (16-4) won against 5th ranked Wesmen (10-10) 74-57 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-57. Huskies made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Huskies outrebounded Wesmen 50-34 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Kiera Lyons (178) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Jordyn Halvorson (183) helped adding 11 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Stephanie Kleysen (178) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and guard Megan Noonan (170) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Huskies have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They used an opportunity after UFV lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Wesmen keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Huskies will have a break next round. Wesmen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Winnipeg to the arena Manitoba.
