Regular Season Round 27: TWU - Mount Royal 54-69

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Langley where 7th ranked TWU (5-15) was defeated by eighth ranked Cougars (2-18) 69-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Cougars led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Cougars forced 27 TWU turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Danica Rybachuk (170) who led her team to a victory scoring 27 points. Forward Jordan Maclean (178) helped adding 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Laurissa Weigl (175) with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Luca Schmidt (170) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. TWU's coach Jean-Paul Cheryl rotated twelve players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Cougars maintains eighth place with 2-18 record, which they share with Waterloo. Loser TWU dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
