Regular Season Round 27: Ryerson - Laurentian 71-61

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Voyageurs' (4-16) road loss to sixth ranked Rams (8-12) 61-71 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-61. Rams made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Voyageurs turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Kenesha Pingue-Giles (170) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Annie Sokoloff (183) helped adding 17 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Emma Decloe (185) with 28 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Devenae Bryce (173) scored 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Rams have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with York. Voyageurs lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
