There was no surprise when Ancona (0-1) was outleveled at home by Napoli S.Dike (2-0) 79-38 on Sunday. The game without a history. Napoli S.Dike led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ancona to just 6 points in second quarter. Napoli S.Dike dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Ancona's 16. They outrebounded Ancona 43-16 including a 30-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Napoli S.Dike shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. The former international center Dubravka Dacic (201-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 9 rebounds. Finnish forward Krista Gross (183-90, college: N.Carolina, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Napoli S.Dike will face Meccanica NB (#8) in Bologna in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ancona will play at home against Irpino and hope to win that game.
