Regular Season Round 15: AE Ellinikou - Aris 65-54

A1 top team - AE Ellinikou (15-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Aris (5-11) 65-54. The game without a history. AE Ellinikou led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. AE Ellinikou forced 30 Aris turnovers. It was a quality performance for American forward Lykendra Johnson (185-89, college: Michigan St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international guard Maria Roza Boni (179-86) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. AE Ellinikou's coach Eleni Kapogianni used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Roula Mouli (178-85) came up with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Monique Oliver (188-91, college: Rutgers) added 5 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Aris in the defeat. AE Ellinikou have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-1 record. Aris lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. AE Ellinikou will play against Anagenisi (#5) in the next round. Aris will play against Athinaikos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
