The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Sydney Uni Flames' (9-14) road victory over 8th ranked Logan Thunder (6-16) in Loganholme 71-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sydney Uni Flames. Logan Thunder was better in third quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Logan Thunder to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Logan Thunder 42-31 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for guard Katie-Rae Ebzery (177-90) who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Lasondra Barrett (187-90, college: LSU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Sydney Uni Flames players scored in double figures. Guard Sarah Graham (163-89) replied with 15 points and forward Emma Langford (188-89, college: Wyoming) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Logan Thunder. Sydney Uni Flames moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Canberra C. Logan Thunder lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. Sydney Uni Flames will face bottom-ranked West Coast Waves (#9) in Perth in the next round. Logan Thunder will play at home against Bulleen Boomers and hope to win that game.
